When you were a kid, were there any early activities that might indicate you’d one day become a skydiver?

I loved everything that revolved around aviation. I was obsessed with the little army parachute toys and was always looking up BASE jumping and skydiving videos online.

What was the circumstance that led you to the DZ for the first time to make your very first skydive?

It was my idea! I always wanted to do a skydive and when my friends and I all turned 18, I dragged them all out to the DZ to do tandems.

What made you want to continue skydiving after your first jump?

I could be all philosophical about this but in reality it was just really really really fun! At the time I had no idea how complex the sport was I just wanted to keep jumping out of planes.

What’s the best / most memorable skydive you’ve ever made?

The first attempt for the 2022 VWR. Getting to look across at a formation of 200 of my friends was something I’ll never forget.

If you could jump with anyone in the world, who would you like to jump with and why?

My wife Rachel, her stoke for skydiving is so contagious. When we jump together I always land with a smile.

As an instructor what has been one of the most meaningful jumps you’ve made with a student?

A fun jump that I made years later with the first student I ever took all the way through the A-license progression. I’m sure I didn’t teach him perfectly because it was my first real student but it was awesome to jump with him years later and see he turned out to be a great skydiver who is still jumping to this day.

What about your daily work at Skydive City contributes to FUN at Skydive City?

I want people to be confident that when they get on the airplane, they are in good hands. If they don’t have to worry about the pilot or the spot, it allows them to focus more on how much FUN it is to jump at Skydive City!
